Diy Post-it note heart art

I wanted to make this heart shape couples using post-it notes. This resembles two couples that love each other very much on the day of Valentine's Day.

The materials that you need are:
  • 2 Post-it notes-$13.98
  • a pencil-$3.29
  • a paint brush-$1.99
  • Bobby pins-$3.99
  • Tacky glue-$2.99

Instructions:
  1. Get a post-it note and a pencil
  2. Roll up the post-it note by using the pencil. Also, make it tight as possible, so that way it does not feel loose.
  3. Get a paint brush and dip it into the tacky glue
  4. Use the paint brush that you dip in the tacky glue and paint the edges of the post-it note, so that way the post-it note will not fall apart.
  5. Use a bobby pin to hold it together, so it could stay in place.
  6. Lastly, let it dry in a minute and then just continue on doing the rest.

Diy Toilet Paper Roll Wall Art

                                                                First Project

                                                    The materials I used are:

  • Toilet paper rolls - free
  • Tacky glue - $2.99
  • Scissor -$4.99
  • Paint brush -$1.99
  • Bobby pins -$3.99
  • Krylon: spray paint (satin white) -$6.99
  • Krylon: spray paint (satin black) -$6.99

You will need a scissor to cut up the toilet paper rolls into pieces.

After you cut up the toilet paper rolls into pieces, you will need a paint brush, a tacky glue, and a bobby pin. Next, use the paint brush and dip it into the tacky glue. Then, glue the toilet paper rolls pieces together by brushing the ends with a paint brush. After that you will use bobby pins to hold it in place so, that way they would not fall apart and let them sit for a minute to dry. Finally, continue on with the process of gluing everything on together and holding them in place with bobby pins as well as letting them dry for a minute.

Finally, when you finish putting everything together, now you will be spray painting it by using a Krylon: spray paint (satin white).

Final look

Second Project (same process as the first project)

Finally, when you finish putting everything together, now you will be spray painting it by using a                                                       Krylon: spray paint (satin black).

Self Critique: I think I like how my design came out. It looks good and I love it a lot.

  • Who are you: name, major? Nicole Okpala,Fine Arts major
  • Why did you choose this project? I pick this project because it really caught my eyes and it's very interesting that you can create a wall art by using toilet paper rolls
  • How much time did it take? a week in a half, about 13 hours
  • How much did it cost? I spent $27.94
  • What was the biggest challenge? The biggest challenge for me is cutting out the toilet paper rolls in pieces and gluing them together as well as waiting for them to dry. Finally, spray painting the design.
  • If you had it to do over, what would you do differently? What I would do differently is spray painting the toilet paper rolls first before cutting them in pieces so, it will be much easier.
